The Foxboro Hottubs
Sporting alter egos and a retro sound, the Foxboro Hottubs are a unique band with a killer sound. The crew is consisted of 6 people, most of them having interesting alter egos. 4 of the 6, Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, Tre' Cool, and Jason White all have alter egos. Billie Joe adopted the nickname Reverand Strychnie Twitch. Tre' Cool, embraced his real name, Frank Edwin Wright the 3rd. Mike used his real last name, making him Mike Pritchard. And Jason White's alter ego goes by the name Frisco Lee. Now I'm sure some of these names seem familiar, and you're right. This band is made up of the original members of Green Day. But don't be expecting Green Day to stop everything, because this little band is strictly a side project created just for fun. The bands' only record "Stop, Drop, and Roll" contains 12 hits including "Mother Mary", which made it big on the charts in Britain and America. The type of music played on the CD isn't like anything most of my generation has every heard, and that's why i love it. The music is so distinctive and colorful, i couldn't help but be stuck on it. It kind of has a 60's and 70's vibe, making it nostalgic and for me, likable. If you want a blast from the past, pick up "Stop, Drop, and Roll". I highly suggest this refreshing band. Big Bad World
The Plain White Tees. A simple band with a simple sound from Seattle, Washington.Their newest CD, Big Bad World, consists of quirky love songs and a mix of a soft acoustic sound and indie rock. Personally, love songs are not my cup of tea, but i think the CD is perfect for hopeless romantics. The CD is filled with songs about break-ups, make-ups, and falling in love for the first time. So in a nut shell the CD is a yucky love fest, but the sound, i have to admit, was very pretty and very relaxing. So a pretty mediocre CD, for a pretty okay band, but i wouldn't waste iTunes money on it.

Green Day's new album
Okay, so i know the CD has been out for awhile, but i have to talk about Green Day's most recent album "21st Century Breakdown". Green Day, for some of you who don't know, are a pop punk trio from the east bay area. This CD is the bands second punk rock opera. The story follows Christian and Gloria, a couple coping with the everyday struggle of the modern world. The two characters are complete opposites, though they play off of each other in an enchanting way. Gloria, the main character, is optimistic about the future and tries to solve problems in constructive and rational ways. On the other hand, Christian is angry, and is more willing to let out is inner demons and solve problems by burning them all away. The CD starts with a solo by front man Billie Joe Armstrong, titled "Song of the Century". The CD targets all of the problems in the world today, including the unnecessary rise of technology, natural disasters, war, and of course, politics, and how its almost impossible to cope with all of the nonsense that covers today's society. I loved this CD, and the story it held. I really connected with the characters and the main story. I'm ecstatic that well known figures, like Tre' Cool, Mike Dirnt, and Billie Joe Armstrong, aren't afraid to give everyone a piece of their mind. Although many don't agree with the messages that they're sending, i fully agree! Congratulations Green Day, for all of your success!! I hope to see more of your work in the future!
